From this week on, My Perfect Boyfriend is going to be different. From now on, we’ll only be posting one boyfriend each week. (We don’t want you to get over-swooned! ;D)

Marianne’s Perfect Boyfriend

Alex Sheathes from Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Description: His hair is golden brown, like leaves in autumn just as they’re turning, and he has bright amber eyes. His skin is caramel-colored. He’s funny, sweet, can recite poetry from memory, he’s protective, adorable, swoon-worthy…

Why should he be My Perfect Boyfriend?

“Everyone is asleep. They’ve all been asleep for years. You seemed … awake.’ Alex is whispering now. He closes his eyes, opens them again.’I’m tired of sleeping.

“I’d rather die on my own terms than live on theirs. I’d rather die loving Alex than live without him.”

“Alex–” I start to say, but the word gets tangled in my throat.
He kisses each cheekbone-a delicious, skimming kiss, barely grazing my skin. “I love thee freely…”
“Alex,” I say, a little louder. My heart is beating so fast I’m afraid it will burst from my ribs.
He pulls back, and gives me a small, crooked smile. “Elizabeth Barrett Browning,” he says, then traces a finger over the bridge of my nose. “You don’t like it?”

“How did I love her?
Let me count the ways.”

“… how she looked at me like I could save her from everything bad in the world.
This was my secret: she was the one who saved me.”

“Maybe we’d be better off [without love].
But how could anyone who’s ever seen a summer-big explosions of green and skies lit up electric with splashy sunsets, a riot of flowers and wind that smells like honey-pick the snow?”

This week’s MPB took me a long time, just because when I was skimming through my Hardcover version of Delirium, I kinda got distracted and read half of the book before I remembered that I was actually doing a blog post…

Anyways, Alex is so… dreamy. He’s so cute, funny, charming, amazing, sweet, lovely, muscular… where was I again?

Oh! Anyways, Alex has what it takes to be in my list of perfect boyfriends, because that’s what he is: a perfect boyfriend. Brenton Thwaites is who I think should be Alex. Brenton is an Australian actor, most commonly known for the movie Blue Lagoon: The Awakening. Brenton was one of the actors considered to play Four in the Divergent movie. Brenton, like Alex, is very swoon-worthy, and sweet, so that’s why I chose him.
