Author Interview with Sarah J. Pepper

This week I, Jennifer, had the pleasure to interview one of my new favorite indie authors, Sarah J. Pepper, the incredibly talented mind behind The Fate Trilogy, in addition to other books.

1. What inspired you to write The Fate Trilogy?

I initially started writing this novel for my brother who has done several deployments in the Air Force for intel. We are both into classical mythology and we both wanted to write something about gods and goddess. (Although I leaned toward romance and his had this alien twist.) Anyways, it was a way to connect with him from the other side of the world…

2. Who’s your favorite character?

Ummmmm Jace? (obviously lol)

3. What are your future plans for the trilogy?

There is one more book still to be written in the fate trilogy… to put the”the end” on Gwyneth’s story. However, I’ve already decided to write a story from Jaces POV. Not present day, but rather in the past when he and Gwyneth (Deino) first met.

4. When did you start writing?

My idea of writing didn’t start until a dear friend forced me to watch Twilight with her. Sparkling vamps? Give me a break. But I humored her, thinking that any night I had an excuse to shove popcorn down my throat was a good night. Within three days following the movie I finished the first two books. Soon after I found a few different authors specializing in the sci-fi/fantasy realm and read their works. Days turned into months about as quickly as I turned each page in the books I finished. Soon I had a dilemma. My favorite authors weren’t coming out with their newest works for another several months. A light bulb went off in my head…

5. What’s the most challenging thing in your writing?

EDITING!!!! UGH! I HATE editing. I’m a horrific speller and my grammar is subpar, so thank God for editors 🙂

6. Do you work with an outline, or just write?

I tried the outline thing, and my characters vetoed that. lol I actually had a novel that intended to be about the mafia that ended up being a story about aliens. I write and let the characters and their dynamic personalities tell me what is going to happen next… if that makes any sense.

7. Day writer or night writer?

Both, usually around food and coffee.

8. Name three of your favorite movies

Sherlock Homes, Every Star Wars, and Just Married.

9. What’s your favorite drink?

coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee 🙂

10. Is there anything else you’d like to add to your readers/fans?

THANK YOU TREMENDOUSLY FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!! I used to be on the other side of the page (so to speak). I never considered myself a writer, hell, I can’t hardly spell. My imagination gets the best of me, which is why I started to put down my thoughts in the first place. If anyone has any questions for me, feel free to friend me on Facebook or follow me on twitter. I’ll respond ASAP. Sarah J Pepper (Facebook)  or Twitter @sarahjpepper.

Author Bio:

Sarah J. Pepper

I specialize in dark, paranormal romance – think “happy ever after” but with a twisted, dark chocolate center. Real-life romance isn’t only filled with hugs, kisses, bunnies, and rainbows. True-love can be more thoroughly described in times of darkness and tribulation. It’s in those harsh moments where you see what a person is truly capable of – both the good and bad. Sometimes prince-charming isn’t always on time, and the glass slipper is a little snug. However, it doesn’t mean Charming is not Mr. Right, and who says every shoe is the perfect fit?

“Warning: Addictive passion erupts from her mouthwatering descriptions” – recent review.

Sarah J. Pepper lives in South Dakota with her real-life prince charming. At a young age, she fell for paranormal books and now incorporates that genre with romance that thrives in the hearts of us all. When she’s not storytelling, she’s most likely biking, hoarding chocolate, or taking a bubble bath. Get a glimpse inside her head at her Website.

By clicking in the names you can find my reviews to Forgotten and Twisted Games, the first two books in The Fate Trilogy.
